What does it take to go from breathless after 1 lap to completing a marathon swim? 🏊
When Jeremy started swimming last year, he could barely make it through one lap without gasping for air.
As a seasoned runner who had done Spartan races before, he thought his fitness would carry over, but he quickly realized that swimming was a different beast.
“I couldn’t wrap my head around how winded I was. I couldn’t even finish 25 yards,” he recalled.
Determined to tackle his first Ironman, Jeremy joined Feisty Fox Coaching.
With a tailored training plan, he worked on his breathing, improved his swim technique, and built up his endurance lap by lap.
Consistency was key for Jeremy.
He managed his workouts around his busy life, fitting in swims after work and ensuring his training didn’t take away from his family or job.
Within just 3 months of starting, Jeremy finished his first Olympic distance triathlon.
Fast forward 7 months, and Jeremy completed his first full Ironman—IM Wisconsin.
After 1 year and 5 months with Feisty Fox Coaching, he reached another huge milestone by finishing an 8.2-mile marathon swim around Mackinac Island.
Despite terrible weather—rainy, gross, windy, with 5-foot waves—Jeremy completed the 8.2-mile open water swim around Mackinac Island with his wife, Renae, by his side in a kayak.
Renae provided his nutrition every 30 minutes, helping him push through the challenging conditions.
His pace, endurance, and confidence in the water skyrocketed.
‘Think it, say it, do it’ became Jeremy’s guiding motto, but the real change came from learning the right techniques and receiving targeted feedback.
With the right guidance, even the toughest goals can be achieved.
What started as a struggle to swim a single lap turned into major achievements in both the pool and open water.
